We have plenty in the safe right now

Not everything has to be ordered in. There is real stock sitting in Bedfordview that you are welcome to come and look at properly, under a loupe, in daylight, with someone who can explain what you are seeing. Some of it is on the loose diamonds page, but that page is only a slice of what is in the safe, so the quickest answer is always to ask us what we have. Come past and take a look, or message first and we will have a few ready for you.

We read the report before you buy, and the stone before you keep it

Be clear on what is what. Anything in our safe in Bedfordview you can see on the loupe yourself, with us, before you spend a cent. Anything on this page is sourced: it sits with the supplier until it is ordered, so nobody can put it under a loupe today, and we will not pretend otherwise.

What we do instead is read the certificate properly. Where the inclusions sit, whether the fluorescence is likely to turn it hazy, whether the proportions add up. We ask the supplier for more images where they exist. And when the stone lands here we check it before it goes to you, so nothing arrives that we would not have bought ourselves. Buy the stone, then let us mount it

Plenty of people buy the diamond first and decide on the setting later, and that is a perfectly good way to do it. Once the stone is yours, tell us what you have in mind and the same bench that does all our own work will build it around that stone. Ring, pendant, earrings, a remake of something you have seen. Sourced stones are bought before anyone has seen them

A sourced diamond sits with our supply partner, not in our safe, so nobody has held it yet, us included. What you do have is the full laboratory report: every measurement, grade and proportion on this page comes off that certificate, and the report number is yours to check with the lab before you pay anything. If that feels like a lot to take on trust, that is fair enough: send us the stone and we will tell you honestly what we make of it first.

A sourced stone cannot come back

Once we buy one in for you it is yours, so there is no refund or exchange on a sourced diamond. We would far rather you took another week and asked us five more questions than felt rushed into it. If you want to be certain before you commit, talk it through with us. That is exactly what we are here for, and it costs you nothing.

Sourcing takes a little time

These stones travel from wherever they are sitting. Each card shows the working days that particular one needs, and you can sort the whole list by what arrives soonest. If you need a diamond in your hand this week, that means our own stock instead, and we almost certainly have something: message us and ask.

A sourced diamond goes through the checkout on this site at the price shown, and that price is everything landed in South Africa: the stone, VAT, getting it here, and the card fee, in one number with nothing to add afterwards. The diamonds already in our safe are not sold through the checkout, so message us for those and we will price them for you directly.

Any stone here can become a finished piece

A loose diamond is a starting point, not the end of it. Anything you find here can be set into a ring, a pendant or earrings by the same bench that does all our own work. Tell us what you have in your head, even roughly, when you message us, and we will design it around the stone rather than the other way round.
