Before any stone reaches this page it passes the Procut Screen: our cutting house's quality gate covering certification, cut class on rounds, polish and symmetry, clarity floors, sane proportions, honest pricing and declared fluorescence. Stones that fail are not shown at a discount. They are not shown at all.

Most diamond search tools end at the cart. Ours starts a conversation with a cutting house. When you find the stone you want, you are not buying from a faceless marketplace. You are commissioning Prodiam, a director-led South African diamond dealer and cutting house in Bedfordview, Johannesburg.
We reserve the diamond, send you its full GIA report, HD photography and 360° video, and only then, once you have seen it and confirmed, do we cut, set or ship. The same bench that polishes our loose diamonds can set your sourced stone into a bespoke engagement ring, a pendant or a pair of earrings.
Why the Rand price you see is the real price
Every figure on this page is a live ZAR price: the current wholesale stone price, converted at today's exchange rate, with our margin already built in and rounded up to absorb currency movement. There is no retail counter premium folded in afterwards, and there is no separate per-carat number to negotiate from. Because we work direct, you see a wholesale-led price, not a showroom one.
We never display an invented or placeholder price. If a diamond has no live price, it simply is not listed, and you can always send us the spec for a hand-prepared quote.
GIA-certified, natural, and verifiable
Prodiam works in natural, mined-Earth diamonds only (never lab-grown) and we feature GIA-certified stones so you can compare like with like on the grades that matter: colour, clarity, cut, polish, symmetry and fluorescence. You receive the full laboratory report when you reserve the stone, and you can verify it yourself before you settle.

How does sourcing a diamond to my spec work?
You set the shape, carat range, colour, clarity, cut, fluorescence and your budget, and Darren works the brief by hand against the bench and the wider supply lines: De Beers viewings, tender houses and thirty years of trade relationships. You get a short set of matched GIA-certified options, each with the full gemmology and a single, fully-landed ZAR price, wholesale-direct, with no retail counter markup, within 24 hours.
When a stone is right, you reserve it with a deposit, we send you the full GIA report and HD photography and 360 video, and you confirm before anything is cut, set or shipped.
Is the price I see the final price, in Rands?
Yes. Every price shown is a real, final figure in rands: the current wholesale stone price converted at today's exchange rate with our margin already included, rounded up to protect against currency movement. There is no separate per-carat or wholesale figure to back into, and no hidden retail premium added later.
We quote firm, VAT inclusive, before any work begins, and we never send an invented or placeholder price; every figure you receive from us is a written quote Darren will stand behind.
Are the diamonds GIA certified and natural?
Yes. Prodiam sources natural, mined-Earth diamonds only, never lab-grown, and we feature GIA-certified stones. Each diamond carries its own independent laboratory report; you receive the full report once you reserve the stone, and you can verify the report yourself against the GIA report-check service before you settle. The site shows you only the certified grades, shape, carat, colour, clarity, cut, polish, symmetry and fluorescence, so you compare like with like.
Can you cut, set and deliver the diamond I source?
Yes, that is the Prodiam advantage. We are a cutting house in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, directed by Darren Etkind, not a drop-ship store. We can supply the loose stone, or cut and set it into a bespoke engagement ring, pendant or pair of earrings on our own bench, and request light-performance imaging such as ASET or Hearts-and-Arrows on the stone for you.
The finished piece is delivered insured overnight anywhere in South Africa, with a written valuation for insurance.
