Decide whether the trip makes sense
Use the weight and purity of your gold to estimate its melt value. Compare written offers on the same basis, including any deductions and how diamonds or other stones are assessed. An online estimate is not a final offer: the item needs to be tested and weighed.
Allow for your actual travel time and costs from Pretoria or Centurion. Traffic and your starting point affect the journey; we do not promise a fixed travel time or the highest offer.
Book a Bedfordview appointment and check the address before travelling.
Ask about sending your gold for assessment
Contact us with photographs, the approximate weight and any known purity marks. Before sending anything, agree the insured courier arrangements, costs, assessment process and how the item will be returned if you decline the offer. Do not send valuables by ordinary post.
Confirm the final written offer and required identification with Prodiam before accepting a sale. Read how selling to Prodiam works for the main service details.
Gold, jewellery and diamonds are assessed separately
Tell us whether you are selling plain gold, a piece containing diamonds or a loose diamond. A gold-weight estimate does not include the value of a stone. Bring any grading reports or other documentation you have.
