We match like-for-like quotes

Send the replacement quote you already have, with the claim’s specification. If it is like for like (the same stone grades on an independent report, the same metal and weight, the same setting), we match it.

We replace to the original specification

A natural diamond matched to the original grading report, GIA or EGL, set in the same metal and style on our own bench in Bedfordview. The policyholder sees the new stone’s report before it is set.

Why the price works

  • Our own cutting works and bench. Procut DCW, in our building, cuts stones from rough bought at De Beers DBCM viewings; the rest we source at trade. Setting and making happen on our own bench, so the layers between cutter and shop counter are not in the price.
  • Graded next door. GIA South Africa’s laboratory and EGL South Africa both operate from The Paragon, our building, so a replacement stone’s report is never far away.
  • Trade standing. Member of the DGJASA (formerly the Diamond Dealers Club of South Africa); SADPMR licence AP5057/3; SA Beneficiation Licence under the Diamonds Act; De Beers DBCM Emerging Beneficiation Customer. Supplier documents on request.

How a replacement runs

    The policyholder approves the replacement diamond on its grading report before anything is set.

Questions from insurers and brokers

Do you match other suppliers’ replacement quotes?

Yes, when the quote is like for like: the same stone grades on an independent grading report, the same metal and weight, and the same setting. Send the quote with the claim’s specification and we confirm the match in writing.

Are you on our replacement panel?

Only if your claims procurement team has added us, and we will not say otherwise. Where a policy lets the policyholder nominate a jeweller, or a claim settles in cash and leaves the replacement to the policyholder, we can do the replacement directly.

Do you replace branded or designer pieces?

We make to specification: the same stone grades, metal and setting. A brand’s own design is for that brand’s authorised distributor, and we do not copy it. For a branded piece we can still supply the diamond, with its independent grading report.

Do you supply lab-grown replacements?

No. We deal in natural diamonds only. A lab-grown original should be replaced by a supplier that deals in lab-grown stones, at lab-grown prices.
